Dr. Susan K. Mueller shouldn't be a doctor

My baby was still born. The day before I called in to Susan Mueller's office. She had me come in at the end of the day after her last patient. I was very concerned because I had been experiencing decreased movements and I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my first baby. She checked the heart beat but she did no tests, no sonogram. She sent me home and just said the baby was "running out of room to move around". The next day I awoke with a hard stomach. I called her office and was told to go into labor and delivery. I was told I was in labor. As I walked out the door I felt a pop and felt as though my water had broke. It was instead a large amount of blood. I immediately went to the hospital. I found out I had a placental abruption. Dr. Mueller blamed the still birth on me, saying I should have came to the hospital sooner. Dr. Mueller also put blatant lies in my medical records to cover her own self. She is a horrible person and doctor. I am not blaming my babies death on this woman, although she has said it was my fault. I am stating that she is not a professional and would not listen to me when I had concerns. I can not say it could have saved my baby, but the day before she died she had a heart beat in Dr. Mueller's office less than 24 hours earlier when I was expressing my concerns to Dr. Mueller. It is also heinous that she would blame a patient for the death her unborn child. I feel an ethical need to share my story in the hope that I can shed light on the type of "doctor" and person Susan K. Mueller is.

Does not like VA patients

The VA referred me to her for surgery after they did two ultrasounds on me that verified had issues that would not be completely resolved by medication alone. She told me and my husband that my cyclic pain was being caused by other organs in my body, that the fluid pocket in my uterus was normal (like having oil in your car) and that other test need to be done by the VA because the sharp pain alternated with a dull ache on my right side was not gyno-related. (the pocket of fluid is on my right side - per 2 VA ultrasound AND the ultrasound done in her office). The first appointment - which was a new patient appointment - we saw her for a minute, maybe two minutes after waiting an hour past our appointment in the lobby. (We arrived 15 minutes early just for paperwork.) On our second and final appointment, we explained to her that the VA was paying for my surgery, but she was adamant nothing was wrong with me and that no insurance would pay for a "elective" surgery. I wasn't "electing" to have surgery, I was in too much pain to be on pain meds the rest of my life. She said I needed my uterus to prevent cancer - what? My husband witnessed both appointments and this was the most absurd way we have ever been handled. It was pretty clear because the VA was paying, that she didn't want to see me. I gave her five stars on effective communication because she made it very clear she was not going to do what she was paid to do.

Dr Susan Mueller

Dr Mueller has delivered both of my children and my nephnew. She is the most loving, caring and selfless person I have ever met. Did we always agree? No, but in the end she was always right and was out for my best intentions every single time. When I was pregnant with my first child, Emmett that took us time to get pregnant with, I was in a car accident and broke my femur. She not only came to the hospital and waiting in pre op with me while I was alone, bc my husband too was in the emergency room, she sat my entire 6 hour surgery and SHIELDED my unborn child from all the X-rays and mschines. She was there to protect my child when I could not be, when she did NOT have to be, all after her long day at work mind you! It is so sad to see stories that are sad and have negative things to say about DrMueller because I know if she had not been there that day for me and My baby he might not be here with us today. So for every bad there are 10 good- everyone makes mistakes and everyone has bad days but not for one minute do I think Susan wouldn't give 100% of time, effort and self to ANY of her patients if it was needed! We are proud to have Susan as our doctor and better yet be able to call her a true friend!

I'll never go anywhere else

Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to have her deliver my first born (which ended up being an emergency cesarean delivery) , but she was THE BEST during my second pregnancy, and knew I had my heart set on having a VBAC from day 1. She was ALWAYS supportive of my decision, never tried to change my mind, and never made me feel pressured about having a repeat cesarean throughout my entire pregnancy, even during labor she knew my heart and stood by me when my labor stalled and talked about our options. She will always hold a very special place in my heart, because I honestly know she is the ONLY reason that I got to experience my dream birth. I love her a million times over and I would NEVER go anywhere else. Despite having her own personal complications in her life, she never let me down. Thank you so much Dr. Mueller.

Dr Mueller is a doctor that's always there for you

I have been seeing Dr Mueller since 2013. Being a 1st time mom I had allot of questions and she answered all of them and even the ones my husband asked. Since I have endometriosis I worried allot and she calmed many of those fears. Shes very straight to the point most of the time but has a compassionate side that is beyound compare. I saw it first hand when she took my husband to the side to let him know she was going to take care of "his girls" and gave him a hug when we needed an unexpected emergency c-section. She's connected to not only her patients but their family too which is so comforting. Dr Mueller will always be the only OBGYN Ill go to. I trust and respect her for all that she does.
